Hi, I'm Christine Pagulayan.
My parents named me after a local newscaster, unknowingly setting the course for my future. My passion for news media was sparked in high school while volunteering at Rogers Television, and from that moment, I was determined to pursue a career in journalism.
I studied TV Broadcast Journalism at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson), specializing within the Radio and Television Arts program. Internships at CBC, CityNews, and CTV during my studies paved the way for my first role at CBC Dragons’ Den.
That initial opportunity launched a series of progressive roles at CBC News, including chase and breaking news producer at CBC News Network; lineup and control room producer for The National; multiplatform reporter for CBC Manitoba and CBC Toronto; senior assignment producer for CBC News Education & Entertainment; senior producer for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games; and coordinating video producer for CBC News. In my senior positions, colleagues have recognized me as an organized and empathetic leader who values diverse perspectives, professional growth, and collaborative teamwork.
In addition, I bring over 10 years of experience as a facilitator within CBC’s Learning & Development department, leveraging my technical expertise and passion for teaching to support colleagues’ growth.
With over 15 years in news media, I’ve grown from a behind-the-scenes producer to a senior leader known for driving national coverage and delivering compelling journalism across platforms. Grounded in a strong foundation in TV journalism and fueled by a passion for mentorship and collaboration, I bring a dynamic mix of newsroom leadership, technical expertise, and impactful storytelling that informs and inspires.
